Every year we offer a Yarn Advent Calendar in the shop. It has become quite a tradition I must say it has been a lot of fun designing and dying these calendars over the years. A lot of thought goes into selecting and planning its theme, so that every advent calendar is an experience during the Advent Season.

Last year’s calendar theme was Christmas in Germany. Although the Christmas season here (I live in Germany) is also very nice, I wanted to venture off to Scandinavia where Christmas is just as magical, if not more!
It is an incredibly wonderful time of the year that is filled with colorful twinkling lights, quiet and warmly lit homes, which are decorated with minimalist Christmas decorations and filled with smells of Gingerbread pastries!
That is exactly the vision I have for our Nordic Christmas Advent Calendar and I will be taking a lot of the inspiration from this vision to dye and package your advent calendar.
Each calendar will include 24 20g Mini Skeins all dyed as one of a kind speckled and tonal colorways. Each mini will be individually wrapped and numbered with handmade materials and will include materials so that you can hang your calendar in your home.
In addition this calendar also offers several different yarn bases to choose from, such as Falkland Merino, Non Superwash Merino as well as Sock Yarn. All of which will be a fingering weight.
Another option you can choose from is our “Extras” option. I really love this option because it includes items that bring the entire calendar together! For our Nordic Christmas Extras Option you will receive a soy wax clean burning candle from Recycled Light Germany, a handmade Scandinavian ornament as a keepsake you can use for many years to come, as well as stitch markers and a canvas bag to store all of your minis while crafting with them.
